Biography of VANESSA KALAGIAN HAMRICK
Vanessa is a Realtor® with Coldwell Banker Premier Realty in Las Vegas Nevada. She is a Certified Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Specialist, Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) and recognized as a published author by her board. Concentrating her expertise on the "high end luxury market” she is able to work with investors from all over the world. Her no-nonsense approach to real estate and personalized level of service has set her above her competition. She receives praise from her clients as well as her colleagues because of her high standards, dedication and commitment to her clients’ needs.
Prior to real estate, Vanessa was the Vice President of Events for Monsoon Group of Las Vegas. Vanessa and her team were responsible for procuring, producing, coordinating and managing Las Vegas events. As an executive with the Monsoon Group of Las Vegas, Vanessa worked at the prestigious Wynn Resort and Casino of Las Vegas. Prior to the position with the Wynn she has worked for the MGM’s Luxor Hotel & Casino as a representative of the VIP Services Department. Being a leader in her departments, Vanessa has established relationships with Las Vegas’ elite, in addition to some of the world’s most renowned corporate leaders & directors.
Prior to relocating to Las Vegas in 2007, Vanessa had an extensive career within the banking industries of the US and Canada. Working for the B of A (Bank of America) following her ten-year Canadian banking career with RBC (Royal Bank of Canada), CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce), where she finished her Canadian banking career for Scotia Bank where she became a fully licensed Mutual Funds Representative.
Vanessa is a 1993 graduate of Brock University, (St. Catharines, Ontario Canada). Vanessa posses a Bachelors Degree with a double major in Art History & Film.
As June 18, 2019 I became a first time home owner. A dream for me at the age of 48 years old. This was made possible through the assistance of Vanessa Hamrick, my realtor. I have realized that my effortless, painless experience buying a home was due to having an awesome team of Vanessa and My lender that communicated and looked out for me. My process for buying my perfect home was less than 2 months; started April 29 with bid and finalized yesterday, June 18 with the title signing. It took me almost 2 years working hard and looking for a home to finally take a chance, but I see that everything has its timing. My home has the features I wanted and the space needed for my 4 children ( 2 college and 2 in regular school). It is no mansion but to me it’s awesome. When you walk in, there is a sense of peace and family. Two important things in my life. I LOVE MY HOME. I knew it was mine from the moment I took a tour and now I hold the key. It was my first bid with ANY home. I am thankful for my realtor Vanessa Hamrick for her wonderful work and looking out for me. Anyone nervous and not understanding the process of buying a home, I totally recommend Vanessa. She has the patience and knowledge to provide a homebuyer with the information they need. Vanessa Kalagian looks the part. She'll drive you around Las Vegas in a black BMW, and she may wear her thick rimmed black glasses. She's from Canada, as you'll find out. In skillfully bantering with other agents or homebuilders, skillfully, effortlessly working to get what you need, she may say a line like "I'm not sorry," and you'll hear that little twang in the word "sorry."
Not long into it, you know she's more than just a face on a business card, going through the motions. I've worked with realtors over many years. She's like no other.
I inherited a multifamily property in Waikiki in early 2017, and soon after, a longtime family friend, Coldwell Banker realtor Ruth Kam, helped me sell it alongside expert CPAs and tax attorneys that reduced my state and federal liabilities by initiating a like-kind exchange, in which an investment property is sold and exchanged for other pieces of income earning real estate tax-free.
Pulling off this kind of like-kind exchange in a timely way requires close coordination between agents, attorneys and other experts. Vanessa proved herself to be competent in this arena, and was always responsive to the needs of title companies and exchange intermediaries. She was so quick to get them answers and expedite the process, I was surprised. Her work, which she does each day, and will do for you no matter your needs, was instrumental in making it all work for me and ensuring passive income from a properties purchased across the country.
She is entering the luxury real estate market, and her work there will be guided by the same meticulous, knowledgable mindset she applies in all she does.

Last year around October, I traveled to Las Vegas. She and I scouted the city for good investment properties. I was serenaded by facts and figures, an encyclopedic knowledge of the ongoing new construction, home types and build quality, and of course insights into coming appreciation in market values, and how it would be stimulated by two major sports teams coming to the city as well as the anticipated arrival of a major tech giant, maybe one that starts with "A." In retrospect, her insights were psychic-level ones. Of course, that's not it. She's done her work.
Yes, "serenaded" is not a mistake. It was all music to me.

As a passenger in that black BMW speeding down the fast lane of the Vegas spaghetti bowl into a kind of desert sunset I realized I'd never seen, we talked about what would seem to be trivial things: air traffic control, home automation, social media, trends in education, life in Hawaii, life in Canada, and I think we even ended up talking about the classics, somehow.
I forgot I was buying houses. That's how it should be. She was doing all the work, and she made me feel at home in Las Vegas.
